CONSTRUCTION OF THE THERMOELECTRIC MODULE PELTIER, consist of the thermoelectric module
The thermoelectric module Peltier (TEM) is an assembly unit consisting of thermocouples. Each thermocouple consists of p- and n-type semiconductor elements (pellets) connected by copper conductors (contact pads).
The number of such thermocouples in a TE module (TEM) can vary from a few to several hundreds, and the cooling capacity of the thermoelectric module will depend on this number.
To produce the semiconductor elements (pellets) alloys based on bismuth telluride Te-Bi are used (own production of SPF "Modul").
The ceramic plate of the thermoelectric module, to which the lead wires are attached, is usually called the "hot side", the other ceramic plate is called the "cold side". Accordingly, an object is mounted to the cold side for cooling, and heat is released (rejected) from the hot side.
Alumina ceramic is traditionally used, but other options are also possible (read. more).
